Bosede Accessories

Helen has turned a creative hobby into a socially impactful specialist business, with huge potential to scale

Helen Adekalu runs her jewellery and accessories business from her home in London, with 100% of her sales coming from her successful eBay shop, Bosede Accessories.

Helen decided to sell her range of African inspired jewellery and accessories after becoming tired of always having to pay high prices for the products she wanted, and not being able to source them from mainstream jewellery retailers.

Her stock is sourced and designed from all around the world, and the designs are original - unlike others on the market. It’s been a whirlwind journey for Bosede Accessories so far and sales are now flying in for Helen’s products.

She’s also been approached by various companies to feature her products in monthly subscription beauty boxes.

Helen has gone on to sell her pieces at Sky TV HQ for Black History Month and has even had products featured on the Facebook app as part of its Christmas campaign for Black owned businesses.

During lockdown, sales peaked during the Black Lives Matter movement and the majority of Helen’s Black inspired pieces sold out within days - especially her Black & Proud earrings. With this momentum, Helen thinks that there is a brilliant opportunity for her business to expand even further.

From what started as a hobby, Helen has been able to fulfil her dreams. Her next priority is improving her marketing and creating more products for her eBay store and she has big aspirations to have her pieces stocked in well-known high street stores.
