Plumbworld

Growing by 1000% in just two years, Plumbworld is a force to be reckoned with

Bathroom specialist Plumbworld started trading back in 1999, but it’s only in the last three years that its success on eBay has really taken off. Under Marketplace Manager Nick Dunkley, its eBay store now turns over an incredible £1.2m a month.

Winner of the From Little to Large Award at the eBay for Business Awards 2020, Plumbworld opened their first eBay shop in 2004 as a way to sell returned items at reduced prices rather than disposing of them.

At first progress was slow and steady, as the details of each product were manually added to the store. But driven on by the success of their competitors, the team persisted. By the end of 2017 the eBay store was turning over around £100k a month. Then things suddenly took off with new software and a new hire driving a massive surge in sales.

In just two years, turnover rocketed to £1.2m a month – over 1000% growth – and there is no sign of it stopping.
