Loaded Kicks

In June 2020, Troy Bustamante was in his second year of uni, studying Business Studies while working part-time at a nursing home.

Finding himself with extra time on his hands, he decided to try and bring in some extra money while putting his Business Studies skills to good use by restoring and reselling an old pair of Nike Air Force 1s on eBay.

The shoes quickly sold, which then gave Troy the push to invest more in his idea of finding, restoring and selling old shoes on eBay. Sneakers have been a lifelong passion for Troy, who grew up playing basketball, so the idea made perfect sense.

Troy took a risk and launched Loaded Kicks by investing the last of his student finance into a few pairs of Nike Jordans. Two years and nearly a thousand sales later, Troy has finished his degree and turned his side hustle into a full-time career.

Launching Loaded Kicks has changed Troy’s life, enabling him to become his own boss and gain financial freedom. But it’s not been an easy ride, as Troy initially struggled with a lack of capital, and juggling his studies alongside his business in a heavily competitive market.

Troy believes that there are a few things that help him stand out from the crowd: his expert customer service, high quality photography and the work he does with eBay’s Authenticity Guarantee.

Troy has big plans to keep growing his business, with goals to eventually open his own shop in his hometown of Hatfield. The past two years have been a liberating experience, and he can’t wait to take it to the next level with eBay’s help!
