Sheanies Vintage

A business with sustainability at its heart.

In January 2016, brothers Sean and Liam Sheahan had plans to travel the world. When their father died unexpectedly that Christmas, they felt a shift in their perspectives and decided to stay home.

Having already left their jobs, the pair needed a new venture. With a box of used clothes, some handwritten labels and a handful of mailbags, they built their first eBay store, taking advantage of eBay support to learn the fundamental skills for selling online.

After some experimenting, Sheanies Vintage was born; a platform for buying, selling and trading second-hand clothing. The pair source trending second-hand fashion brands, including Ralph Lauren, Adidas and The North Face, from suppliers across the world and sell the stock honestly and affordably on eBay.

The brothers have come from selling a single box of used clothing to amassing sales in excess of £100,000 this year.

Thanks to the success of their eBay store, the brothers opened a physical shop, Sheanies Thrift and Vintage Clothing, in the heart of their hometown in Selly Oak, Birmingham in April 2017.

With a focus on innovation, fashion and helping the environment, Sheanies Vintage aspires to be the front-runner for implementing positive change in an increasingly eco-conscious society. Sean and Liam hope to invest further in locally-sourced, sustainable products and plan on working closely with the local university to provide more opportunities for young designers.
